Cold Bay's weather is famously changeable: expect wind, rain, low clouds and sudden clearing — sometimes all in the same afternoon. Summer highs average in the 50s°F; winter lows dip below freezing but rarely extreme.
Peak wildlife viewing is late August through October. Best salmon fishing runs July–September.
